Early in May, 2002, a group called the Coalition for Clean Air and Water,
decided to disband after fighting a lengthy battle with mushroom composting
operations in the Langley/Aldergrove area. They disbanded only after winning
the battle against stench.
The group also disbursed about $3800 of its savings to a number of local
charities and environmental groups who are battling other forms of air and
water issues.
The Coalition donated $1200 to Ban the Cannons, $800 to the SE2 Action Group,
$1000 dollars
to the Bertrand Creek Enhancement Society, and about $500 to the Elk's
Children's Camp.
On behalf of all the members of Ban the Cannons, your web master would like to
thank
the members of the Coalition of Clean Air and Water, and rest assured that the
money will be used
wisely, and we will remain dilligent in our struggle.
