Dear John,
In my last email, I asked you why the contact number for propane cannon complaints has never been made known to the public as promised. While I wait for your answer, I have another question to raise. In the use of cannons, why is there one set of standards for residents of the Okanagan and another for the rest of the population? I refer to the Farm Practices Board recent ruling which calls for numerous changes, among them: an 8:00 A.M. start time for cannons, one cannon per twelve acres, use of cannons only when birds are actually present, and, most notably, a timeline to convert to netting.
Last Saturday, our Ban the Cannons group demonstrated, peacefully as always, at the busy intersection of Harris and Riverside. We received overwhelming encouragement from drivers, many asking for information on what they can do to get rid of these obnoxious cannons. This is another indication of the growing opposition to their use.
You must know that a ban on these archaic devices is needed, John. This FPB ruling is a start. But now you need to make its requirements apply equitably, so the rest of us can get some peace.

Regards,
T. N.
